Linghzhi is the Chinese name for Ganoderma Lucidum (binomial name); it has a parasitic existence as it grows in the forests. You can seldom find a wild Lingzhi nowadays, but usually it is grown in Asia, South America, China, or Korea. It differs in looks depending on where it is grown. It belongs to the family of fungi and it’s a phylum called basidiomycota, its class is agaricomycetes, belonging to the order of polyporales.
Lingzhi is composed of ganodesterone oleic acid, ganoderma acid, lucidenic acid, and ganoderic acid. It is a very powerful medicine as most Oriental medical practitioners attests as it is recorded as a superior herbal medicine for over 4,000 years! (more…)
