Spirulina Powder comes from cyanobacteria blue green algae called spirulina. They contain all the nutrients and great for blasting health destroyer radicals especially cancer cells and the dreadful heart cardiovascular ailments. It also has some added on benefits like it lowers your high cholesterol, prevents kidney and liver problems.

Spirulina are cultivated already in man made habitat, but generally, it grows in lakes, they are actually frozen when harvested. Later on, they are produced as Spirulina powder, tablets or capsules.

The vitamin B12 component of a Spirulina has been found to be 36% human active as contrary to earlier studies.

Spirulina has many independent studies in Japan, France and Mexico, checking it powerful effects in the human body. Spirulina powder and other spirulina products are used widely in sixty countries.  Spirulina powder has been a good source of food supplement not only for human persons but also as feed for animals.  Spirulina powder has been a big help especially during famines.

When buying a Spirulina Powder it is best to check the source of the product and where it is manufactured.  Check for the authenticity of the manufacturer and its regulating bodies. Most products are regulated by many agencies as it is marketed in sixty countries.

Usually dietary supplements have an initial approval or backed up by scientific studies.  Most companies manufacturing spirulina powder are strict on the hygienic production of their spirulina powder, because they can be sued in case they are found to be bogus.

Most spirulina powder is mixed with other dietary supplements like wheat grass, alfalfa and barley; some are mixed with gingko or royal jelly.  The concoction is usually for easy intake during breakfast, lunch or supper as a cool drink or dessert.

Since most dietary supplements are still pending approval from FDA.

HOW TO DETECT A FAKE SPIRULINA POWDER

First, the manufacturing company is not officially registered and is not backed up by scientific studies specifically backing up its claim.

Second, check on the manufacturing company so you can really check if they exist.

Third, be wary of buying products online and be very discerning on what is written. Unfortunately, some sites just cut and pasted pictures of medical doctors claiming that their spirulina powder is authentic.  Ethics governing medical practitioners are discouraged from doing so, unless otherwise they will need to write important information to educate the public.

Fourth, you can also check on the packaging of your spirulina powder, check on hygienic and sanitation control numbers.  Most leading dietary supplements are ISO certified.

Make it sure you are getting your money’s worth by asking your friends, physicians around how your brand is reliable.  Most pharmaceutical companies also produce dietary supplements and are therefore careful in hygienic and sanitation production.

Fifth, beware of fake merchants online and land based.
